Believe - SIP Challenge #15

http://stampinkpaper.com/2015/09/sip-challenge-15-colors/
Today I'm playing along with the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #15.  The challenge this time around is to use the following colours:
SIP Color Challenge 15
With the colours for the SIP Challenge I really wanted the Basic Black to pop the other two challenge colours. It is also a stepped up version of the other card I created while playing with these colours (you can check out the other card here).  For this challenge card I wanted to do something that fairly new stampers could do. Heat embossing was one of the first techniques I learnt way back when I started stamping. Here I have used White Craft Ink and heat embossed white embossing powder.

http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4011806

I also wanted to do a bit of a play on negative and positive images by layering with some leaves stamped on Whisper White cardstock with black ink and coloured with Pool Party and Daffodil Delight colours. Some of the leaves have been raised up paper tole style with Stampin' Dimensionals.
The border of the card has been stamped with the loopy border image from the Tin Of Cards stamp set.  I have also added some Dazzling Details to some of the leaves, black cardstock and the Believe sentiment to add a bit of glitz to the project.

http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4011806

Below I have included the "ingredients" used for this card.  It is still a very simple card with just a couple more steps added.  I hope this gives you some ideas on how to add some simple twists to a layout to create a different look.

Lighthearted Leaves Inspired By Colour Challenge on SIP#15

http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4011806

Well we are half way through the school holidays.  The weather has been rather terrible so we've had a lot of indoor play. Thankfully my kids have great imaginations so we've had an indoor beach party one day and today we have converted the dining table into an amazing cubby house. They have also had their own stamps and ink pads out for some craft time.

So with school holidays it has been hard to get time to do my own craft and blog my cards. I was so happy to do an order this week and get the stamp set - Lighthearted Leaves - a special treat for me. I've been wanting to get this set since I saw the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue - and as they say all good things come to those who wait!
http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4011806

I thought I would do a really simple card inspired by the Colour Challenge on Stamp Ink Paper (Stamp Ink Paper #15) using the colours Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Basic Black.  I have entered another card into the challenge so check out my post on it here.
http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4011806

For this card however, I have kept things very very simple - but I just love how the colours pop out. I just wanted to do a one layer card here to show new stampers that it is easy to make a beautiful card with limited stamping resources. I have included the "ingredients" I have used to create this card below:

Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

Please let me know if you have any questions about this card - and please check out my challenge card - you will see it is a stepped up version of this but has a totally different look!

Hugs,
Lisa xx

Happy Hello Honey - Freshly Made Sketches #204

http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com.au/2015/09/freshly-made-sketches-204-sketch-by-jen.html

Today I am playing along with Freshly Made Sketches #204 and this cute sketch by Jen Timko.

http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com.au/2015/09/freshly-made-sketches-204-sketch-by-jen.html
I love love love the Stampin' Up! In Colour "Hello Honey" - so I thought it would be great on this layout.  It is such a happy bold colour and I find I reach for it quite a lot. It will be a great card just to send and give a nice surprise to someone special.  Check out the card "ingredients" below:

Happy Birthday Paul - Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #14

http://stampinkpaper.com/2015/09/sip-challenge-14-a-sketch/
Today I am playing along with the sketch challenge on Stamp Ink Paper and I have made this birthday card for my wonderful brother Paul. Paul is a very talented artist - and he likes to use lot's of colour in his work - but also does wonderful black and white illustrations with pops of colour.  I wanted to use something bright, colourful and arty for his card - but also hark to the black and white - what better for an artist than the Watercolor Wash stamp and the Everyday Chic DSP by Stampin' Up!
SIP Sketch Challenge 14
I really liked this sketch for making a more masculine card.

http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4011806
I've also added some fun elements such as the Brights Sequins Assortment to the card.  Check out the card ingredients below - and please let me know if you have any questions!

I hope you have enjoyed my take on this sketch.  Please head over to Stamp Ink Paper and have a look at the amazing ideas for the different challenges.

Friends In The Garden - #GDP002 Global Design Project Sketch Challenge

http://www.global-design-project.com/2015/09/global-design-project-gdp002.html
I'm playing along with another card for the Global Design Project challenge #GDP002 Sketch Challenge. Here is the sketch below:
http://www.global-design-project.com/2015/09/global-design-project-gdp002.html
For this card I was really keen to use the English Garden Designer Series Paper and the gorgeous Tea Lace Paper Doilies. I've used my trusty sponge daubers to add some colour to the doily and the rose embellishment.
http://www.global-design-project.com/2015/09/global-design-project-gdp002.html
The pretty Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack came into play again with this card. I love the glow of the gold Metallic Foil Doily through the vellum piece here.  If you would like to know the "ingredients" that have gone into this card, check out the products below:

I have also used the Gold Glitter Ribbon from the Holiday Catalogue and some gorgeous products from the Annual Catalogue. Below I have the "ingredients" that have gone into this card.

Video: Festive Flower Builder Punch & Reason For The Season stamp set

This is a great tutorial on how to use the Festive Flower Punch punch in the new Holiday Catalogue to make beautiful flowers including the festive favourite - poinsettias.  It is really easy to use this punch to create some 3D embellishments for your scrapbook pages, cards or gifts.

The Reason For The Season stamp set also coordinates with this punch and is featured in this video as well.

Both products are available in my Online Store.  Purchase them separately or grab the Reason For The Season Bundle Deal  with both products included in the bundle (15% cheaper than purchasing separately).

Into The Woods With Freshly Made Sketches #203

http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4011806

I'm playing along with Freshly Made Sketches today - FMS203
http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com.au/2015/09/freshly-made-sketches-203-sketch-by-jen.html
You can use any shape in the sketch - so I've gone with circles today.  I've used a striking paper from Stampin Up!'s "Into The Woods" Designer Series Paper set (in the new Holiday Catalogue).
http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4011806
I love the stamp set Floral Wings (from the Annual Catalogue) and the coordinating Bold Butterfly Framelits. It really makes some stunning feature pieces for cards and scrapbook pages. I've gone for the striking colour combination of Tangelo Twist, Mossy Meadow, Basic Black and Whisper White.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my interpretation of this sketch.  Check out all the amazing entries over at Freshly Made Sketches and play along.  If you are interested in what I have used to create the card - check out the "ingredients" below.

R U OK My Friend? SUO Challenge #130

http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4011806
It was R U OK? day in Australia yesterday.  It's a really important thing to just reach out and check if a friend really is ok - and let them know that you are there for them.  So often everyone is getting on with their lives in this frantically paced world and not realising that a friend is suffering underneath.  It is one of the things that I love most about cardmaking - pouring my love and expression into a card and giving this gift to a loved one - whether they be family or friends.
http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4011806

I've been thinking about this card all week when I saw the challenge on SUO Challenges. Their challenge this week (SUO Challenge #130 – Cards for Friends! ) is to share a greeting card that you made to send to a friend. I've made this for a very special friend who is having a down week - I know she will love it when she finds it in her mailbox.  I've used the Garden In Bloom Stamp Set - I just had to have this stamp set for the lovely sentiments - let alone my other favourite thing - flowers! I've also had my first play with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch from the Holiday Catalogue (love it!!!).  Here are the "ingredients" below that I have used to create this card.

Hope you get some time out to create a card for a special friend this weekend.

Wish Upon A Star #GDP001

http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4011806

Well my sweet little Lottie is off to a party for one of her Kindy friends tomorrow.  She is super excited about going.  I've made this card for her to give to her friend Olivia.

When setting out to make this card I thought I would play along with a new challenge site - Global Design Project.  Each week the Global Design Project team will be challenging the stamping community with colour challenges, sketch challenges, theme challenges, and case the designer challenges. Congratulations GDP team on setting up this challenge site.  I cannot wait to see what you come up with each week!

So this week I'm playing along with the Global Design Project team's very first challenge #GDP001 - a colour challenge:
http://www.global-design-project.com/2015/09/global-design-project-gdp001.html
This really did get me thinking - especially as Pink Pirouette is not a go to colour for me (I tend to lean to darker pinks).  I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the colour challenge.  I think it went well with my other challenge of creating a card for a 6 year old girl!

http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4011806

I've included the "ingredients" for this card below.  Please ask if you have any questions about my card.

Christmas Cuties Card (Fab Friday 72)

http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4011806
Today I am playing along with the Fab Friday Challenge (Fab Friday 72) with this fun sketch.  It is my very first Christmas card created this year!
http://fabfridaystampinchallenge.blogspot.com.au/2015/09/fab-friday-72.html
The Fab Friday team were also hoping to see some of the new products from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue featured in the challenge - so I hope they like my card as it is packed full of Holiday Catty goodies.
http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4011806
I love the gorgeous gold snowflake from the "Oh What Fun Tag Project Kit" - and really wanted to use it here. I've also added a Real Red button from the "Home for Christmas Designer Buttons" and some wooden "Snowflake Elements". The red glitter banner also came from the "Oh What Fun Tag Project Kit" - I cut it in half and had it tuck out from the circle elf image.

Crazy About My Mum

http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4011806
My very special Mum celebrated her birthday yesterday.  I really enjoyed making this card for her - lots of pretty pinks in this (her favourite colour).
http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4011806
I have also challenged myself with this card by playing along with Freshly Made Sketches this week (FMS202).  I love seeing how everyone interprets a sketch idea each week.  Check out this week's and previous challenges at freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com.au
http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4011806
Once again I've been playing with the Timeless Elegance papers. I tend to do a lot with products that I have out on the craft table already - and I've been really inspired to create with these papers. The main ink colours I used when blending colour into the flowers was Blushing Bride and Rose Red. The leaves have been coloured with the new In Colour Ink 2015-2017 - Mint Macaron. While the centre of the flowers have been coloured with Hello Honey Ink from the 2014-2016 In Colour range.  I loved adding the vellum, ribbons and sequin trim with a pretty die-cut butterfly over the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper.

Below are the ingredients I have used to create the card.
