I cannot believe that my eldest daughter is about to turn 10. Double digits. I know this is such a cliche - but it really feels like it was just yesterday that she was born. So I guess we can use that other saying - time flies when you are having fun! So over the weekend we have been celebrating her birthday with her school friends who came over for a slumber party. I made these lovely party bags for the girls with the Gift Bag Punch Board. Oh my goodness - how quick and easy it is to whip up the bags!
I have used up some pretty Designer Series Paper that I had (great way to get through papers you have been hoarding!). Pretty colours for 'tween girls. I teamed the bags with coordinating coloured ribbons and Hello Honey die-cut butterflies from the Bold Butterflies framelits. So so simple. I think I will be making some of these for Christmas this year.
You may remember that I demonstrated another card in my class on the weekend that used the Timeless Elegance designer series paper (view it on my blog here) - it was made into a masculine card. Well here is the other card we made in the class and it is very very feminine! I also went vintage for this card. We had a lot of fun colouring the paper and then aging it - well fun for me - some weren't so sure at first about this wetting and crumpling the paper business! Everyone was pretty happy with the end result and stepping outside their comfort zones.
The paper really is gorgeous for colouring - and also very sympathetic to those learning how to blend colours. We also got to play with lots of ribbons, embellisments, embossing and die-cutting with the Big Shot, and using Crystal Effects.
I've included the elements below that have been used to construct this card. Let me know if you have any questions about this card.
Here's one of the projects that we completed at my class yesterday. In this class we used the Designer Series Paper "Timeless Elegance" and the stamp set "Guy Greetings". With Father's Day coming up it was a great opportunity to make a masculine card. For those who didn't want the Father's Day sentiment we swapped it out and used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the same stamp set. As you can see below - there are lots of sentiments, images etc to create the perfect card for a male.
I really love this colour combo of Basic Black, Very Vanilla and Real Red. Simple but very effective.
I've included the products below that have been used to create this card. Please contact me if you have any questions.
Just a reminder, if you would like to come along to class this Saturday and you haven't RSVP'd could you please let me know asap. Spots are filling up very quickly.
Also a special request - if you have a blender pen could you please bring it along with you to class. If you can
do this please send me a quick message. Please label your pen with your
name (just so it doesn't get mixed up). We won't be sharing blender
pens around - you will use just your pen. I will have some extra pens
for those that don't own one to use.
Class will begin promptly at 2pm as we have heaps to get through. If you can arrive a little bit earlier and get settled it would be much appreciated.
Happy crafting and hugs,
Lisa Hodge - The InkyDinkyDuck xx
